Toned Near Gem 1871 Quarter

NGC Certified MS-64. A satiny beauty with swirling cartwheel activity that underscores lively rose, blue, and peach iridescence. Far scarcer even than its mintage indicates; it is thought some of the on-hand 1871 and 1872 quarters were melted at the Mint when the weight changed in 1873. This one could easily be called Gem and few would argue. NGC Census: 7; 3 finer (All MS-65).
