Description
1907 St. Gaudens. PCGS Certified MS-65. Flat Rim. (PCGS insists on calling it "Flat Edge," but the edge is lettered and can't be classified as "wire" or "flat;" that applies to the rims, not the edge. 37 years in and they still can't get it right!) A classic gold coin issue of the United States. Designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, the 1907 High Relief was the precursor to a renaissance of US coin designs, mostly designed by his former students -- Brenner, Pratt, MacNeil, and Weinman, to name just a few. A sparkling gold beauty, this satiny specimen will drive you batty trying to find a blemish. Indeed, this coin was purchased in the early 1970s, and held by the same owner until just last year when the coin was sent to PCGS. We don't often have the pleasure of offering a MCMVII High Relief $20, and few that we've had over the years match the present coin for quality and eye appeal. Winning this prize at auction will bring a new level of satisfaction and quality to your collection -- the bidding competition will be stiff!
