Description
Gold dust from the ill-fated S.S. Central America, which went to the bottom of the briny deep off the coast of the Carolinas in September, 1857. Two "pinches" (the amount you could grab between finger and thumb was called a "pinch" in Gold Rush days) - with the standard "pinch" the price of a glass of whiskey. Many bars and saloons hired guys with "big mitts" to do the "pinching" at their establishments.
