Description
Environmental Damage. The NGC qualifier really has little to do with the grade, as the planchet is as struck and only a trifle rough in one or two places. In other words, a wholly acceptable example of this scarce and early New England silver coinage. Typical strike for the variety, obverse off-center to 6 o'clock, reverse neatly centered. Deep steel and blue surfaces offer little in the way of marks other than the aforementioned natural planchet flaws. We can't recall the last time we offered an Oak Tree threepence, but we don't think it was as fine as the present coin.
